OUR PROJECT
How we rebuilt it, layer by layer.
01
Deliverable
We started with the conviction, not the logo. Stavemill imports one species from one place — Slavonian white oak from the Spačva floodplain — so we built the entire brand around that focus. The thesis: one wood, fully known, is a stronger claim than ten woods half-explained. Mission, positioning, and a set of core values — honest grading, restraint, provable custody — gave every later decision something to answer to.
02
Deliverable
The mark is a plank-S — four boards laid like a floor, with one oak-honey stave reading as the heartwood among the bark. We paired it with a quiet Fraunces wordmark and a full lockup system, then drew the Floodplain Palette from the landscape the oak grows in: bark black, reed, sage, river stone, fog, and wheat linen, with river green and oak honey as rationed accents. Fraunces speaks, Archivo organizes — hierarchy by size, never noise.
03
Deliverable
We built a three-act photography direction — forest, to wood, to finished room — with one consistent grade across every frame so the whole world reads as one brand. Then we structured the product line the way premium oak is actually bought: a Prime, Select, and Character grade ladder, with finishes living inside each tier. One wood, organized by grade — an architecture that grows without ever breaking the promise the brand rests on.
04
Deliverable
The system carried into the pieces a specifier actually touches: business cards, letterhead, email signature, social profile kit, and material spec sheets — every surface stating the same thing the same way. We closed with a complete handoff: a logo file index, color values in HEX, RGB, and CMYK, font access, and a full asset package. Ten sections, one standard, ready to use.
